EMI Express: Listening & Speaking

課程概述與目標

“EMI Express: Listening & Speaking” is a preparatory course designed to equip students with essential academic English skills for success in English Medium Instruction (EMI) courses. This program focuses on developing critical listening comprehension, note-taking strategies, oral communication skills, and intelligibility techniques crucial for active participation in English-taught university classes.

By the end of this course, students will be able to:

  • Apply effective note-taking techniques for academic lectures.
  • Understand the basic structure of academic discourse.
  • Participate confidently in academic discussions.
  • Enhance spoken English intelligibility through improved pronunciation
    and speech clarity such as differentiating between content and function
    words, linking, connected speech techniques etc…
